Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) President and mathematics professor in St Stephen's college, Nandita Narain today moved the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on the move to initiate inquiry proceedings against her for allegedly interfering in the functioning of three colleges.
The petition, which is listed for hearing tomorrow before Justice Sunil Gaur, has contended that, "arbitrary and illegal" inquiry proceedings that have been initiated against her by the university at the behest of Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh and St Stephen's principal Valson Thampu of whom Ms Narain has been a vocal critic.
Ms Narain, who was to appear before a fact-finding committee (FFC) constituted by the university to examine complaints against her, kept away from the meeting and moved the court.
She has been at loggerheads with Mr Singh and Mr Thampu and leading a campaign demanding their removal from office over allegations of financial and administrative irregularities.
