Delhi Election Results 2015: 'Juggernaut Likely to Halt,' AAP's Yogendra Yadav tweeted
New Delhi:

Even before the counting of votes began today for the Delhi elections, a series of tweets set the tone for a politically charged day.

Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is set to win a clear victory, made indirect jibes at the BJP, implying that the Delhi results would end its winning streak since it took power at the Centre nine months ago.

"This may be a historic day! The juggernaut likely to halt. David likely to overcome Goliath. Hope lives again," tweeted Yogendra Yadav, a senior AAP leader. In another tweet in Hindi, he said this was the "day of hopes" for AAP.

AAP's victory will mark the first major setback for Prime Minister Narendra Modi since he won the national election. His party has won most recent state polls, banking on what they call "Modi magic."

For a person who is set to return as chief minister for the second time, Mr Kejriwal's tweet this morning was short and non-committal: "All the very best Delhiites. Do pray. Prayers are v powerful."

His main rival Kiran Bedi, the BJP's presumptive chief minister, tweeted images of the media surrounding her home in Uday Park.

"Poor media has been here much before day break," she commented.
