Last-gasp Canada rally to sneak past Wales
New Delhi: Canada scored two goals in the last two minutes for a stunning 2-1 victory against Wales in the Commonwealth Games women's hockey tournament on Friday.

Trailing 1-0 through an Emma Batten strike till the 68th minute, Canada captain Katie Baker fired home the equaliser before 21-year-old striker Robyn Pendleton scored the winner seconds before the hooter.

The come-from-behind victory prompted wild celebrations in the Canadian camp, which had been downcast after the 4-1 defeat to England and had almost given up on Friday's match.

The players hugged and poured iced water on each other before taking a lap of the ground to thank the few but noisy supporters at the Major Dhyan Chand stadium.

Wales, with one win and two defeats, are out of contention for the semi-finals while Canada will have to win their Pool B tie against New Zealand with a 7-0 margin if they are to make it to the last four.
