Tension after couple elopes, security tightened

Ghaziabad: Security has been tightened in Kidwai Nagar and surrounding areas today following a communal tension after a couple eloped, a senior police official said.

The incident took place on Tuesday night when a scuffle broke out between two communities after a boy belonging to a majority community eloped with a girl of a minority community, said Superintendent of Police M M Beg.

Both the groups were called yesterday to resolve the dispute, Beg said, adding that efforts were on to capture the runaway couple.
