Symbiosis Law School wins Nobel quiz

Pune: The dream cherished by three students of Symbiosis Law School came true when they won the grand finale of the Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2010 held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, by beating the finalists of the New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai rounds.

They became the first team from the city to win the quiz and earn an all expenses paid trip to Sweden.

The team had finished third in the final round last year. Since then the victorious team of George Mathew, Sachin Ravi and Raghav Chakravarthy NC was looking forward to make up for the loss this year. The trio said they had been working hard throughout the year to make their mark.

"We studied hard and in the process got to know a lot about the country. Swedes are very industrious and innovative people and we hope to return with some memorable experiences from Sweden," they said.

The trio will visit renowned Swedish companies like Ericsson, Volvo, SAAB, Securitas, Atlas Copco, ABB, Sandvik, Sytemair and SKF, and also visit the Nobel Museum.

Lars-Olof Lindgren, ambassador of Sweden to India, inaugurated the quiz contest.

The preliminary round included closed circuit, written and objective questions, whereas the final round saw the qualifying teams on the stage with the Quiz Master shooting direct as well as indirect questions in the form of slides, audio and video.
