Muzaffarnagar:
A rifle of a railway police constable was stolen while he was sleeping at Tapri railway station, officials said here on Friday.
The service rifle of Sompal was stolen on Thursday by unidentified persons when he was sleeping at the station on Delhi-Saharanpur route, Superintendent of Railway Police Rajbahadur Singh said.
Sompal has been suspended for alleged negligence of duty, he said. A case has been registered and search operation is on to recover the rifle, he added.
Constable Sompal and Ramkumar were on special kawad duty when the incident took place.
