Jaipur: Youth ends life, suicide note on barn walls

Jaipur: A 16-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of a barn in Karauli on Wednesday. Though initially the police were told that the youth was murdered in Mohanpura village of Karauli, it was later clarified that he had committed suicide.

The deceased, identified as Dharam Singh Meena (16), had killed himself in the wee hours of Wednesday.

"In the morning, the youth's parents saw him hanging from the barn's ceiling. They rushed him to the hospital but he was declared brought dead," superintendent of police, Karauli, Mahendra Singh said.

Asked if the deceased had left a suicide note, Singh said, "He has written on the barn walls. His scribbles read that nobody is responsible for his actions and he has asked his parents to learn to live without him."

According to the police the youth was a habitual offender. He would often steal money from his father's wallet and his parents were quite upset with his behaviour.

"Maybe he was thrashed by his parents because of which he took the decision to end his life. But it is premature to comment if this drove him to committing suicide," an investigating officer said.
