Patna: JD-U president Sharad Yadav today said the Grand Alliance of his party, the RJD and Congress will be benefited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing more rallies in Bihar during the campaigning for the assembly polls.

"More rallies Modi will hold in Bihar, it will benefit the Grand Alliance and provide advantage for us in the assembly polls," Mr Yadav told media in Patna.

The Janata Dal-United chief said beef is not the issue or agenda in Bihar polls, but 'dal' (pulse) is a hot issue.

"Dal is an issue, not beef, in polls here as people, particularly poor have been forced to eat rice or bread without pulses due to spiralling prices," he said.

He said pulses have disappeared from plates of the poorest of the poor.

"Modi had promised to check and control price rise during the last Lok Sabha polls but he failed to do anything," he said.

Mr Modi will address eight more rallies in Bihar in the third and fourth phases of the staggered assembly polls in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders said in Patna today.
