Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus Starting Prices Reduced By Up To Rs 84,000

The changes in the prices of Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun have brought down the starting price of both the models.

Volkswagen India has revised the prices of its products sold in the Indian market. Specifically, the changes affect models like Virtus and Taigun, while the prices of the relatively more expensive models like Golf GTI and Tiguan remain unchanged. Among these, the performance hatch is already sold out and the second batch.

With the changes in place, Volkswagen's Taigun competes the price of its base Comfortline variant is now Rs 10.58 lakh, which is approximately Rs 84,000 lower than previously. However, all other variants experience a uniform price increase of about Rs 4,000. Consequently, the current pricing for the Taigun ranges from Rs 10.58 lakh to Rs 19.19 lakh. With the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

In contrast, the entry-level Virtus Comfortline has seen a price decrease of Rs 66,000, now costing Rs 10.50 lakh, while the rest of the lineup has become more expensive. The lower-spec Highline AT and mid-spec GT Line MT have increased in price by Rs 51,000, while the higher-spec Highline Plus MT and AT are more expensive by Rs 46,000 and Rs 45,000, respectively.

The price for the Topline AT has risen by only Rs 2,000, whereas Virtus variants with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and manual transmission are now priced Rs 10,000 higher. The versions equipped with the dual-clutch automatic transmission see an increase of up to Rs 30,000. With the changes in place, the Virtus is priced between Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 19 lakh. The premium sedan competes against its sibling the Skoda Slavia and the Honda City.

Despite the changes in price, some Volkswagen Dealerships are offering discounts on the MY25 version of the Taigun and Virtus. These benefits come in the form of exchange offers, corporate bonus, cash discount and scrappage incentive. It is worth noting that these offers vary depending on the city, dealership and availability of discount.
