Audi Revolut F1 Team Begins 2026 Campaign With Maiden Engine Fire-Up

The Audi Revolut F1 Team has carried out the first fire-up of its 2026 season car at its Hinwil base on December 19, 2025. This marks the initial run of the Audi Power Unit within the chassis, representing a key step as the project moves from design work into practical testing.

The fire-up serves as an important checkpoint in Formula 1 development, confirming that the main components function together as intended. Audi completed the full acquisition of Switzerland-based Sauber Group earlier this year, a move that also opened the door for investment from Qatar's sovereign wealth fund. The Audi F1 team will be led by experienced Formula 1 figures Mattia Binotto and Jonathan Wheatley, both reporting directly to Audi CEO Gernot Dollner. For its driver lineup, Audi is relying on a blend of proven skill and youthful promise, with German veteran Nico Hulkenberg joining forces with Brazilian prospect Gabriel Bortoleto as preparations continue for the team's 2026 debut.

The Audi Revolut F1 Team will present its complete identity for the first time at a launch event in Berlin on January 20. The showcase is planned as an immersive experience, highlighting the team's key values of clarity, technical expertise, and emotion. To extend the impact beyond the Formula 1 paddock, the exclusive unveiling will be followed by a public event on January 21. This approach allows fans to engage directly with the team's debut and be part of its introduction to the sport ahead of the 2026 season, marking an important step in Audi's entry into Formula One.
