Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Launched At Rs 11 Lakh; Check Specs, Features And More

Volkswagen has launched the Taigun facelift in the Indian market at  Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2026 Taigun Facelift brings noticeable styling revisions, a more feature-loaded cabin, and the addition of a new 8-speed automatic transmission option. For the 2026 model year, the Taigun is being offered in seven trims: Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, Topline, GT Line, GT Plus Chrome, and GT Plus Sport. 2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Engine And Performance

Powertrain options remain familiar on the new Taigun facelift. It continues with the 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, producing 114 hp and 178 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the earlier 6-speed automatic has now been replaced by a smoother 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift also continues with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit, which develops 147 hp and 250 Nm. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual and the existing 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, depending on their driving preference.

2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Design & Exterior

While the overall silhouette remains largely unchanged, Volkswagen has given the Taigun a sharper and more premium visual identity. Up front, it gets a redesigned fascia with new headlamps inspired by the larger Tiguan, linked by sleek LED DRLs that merge neatly into the central Volkswagen badge. The front grille has also been reworked for a fresher appearance.

At the rear, the facelifted SUV now features connected LED tail-lamps, along with a blacked-out Taigun badge, matching Volkswagen's latest global design language. A newly styled set of alloy wheels further adds to the SUV's updated road presence.

Volkswagen is offering the Taigun facelift in two fresh shades - Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey - taking the total colour palette to nine options. Other available shades include Lava Blue, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel, Carbon Steel Matte, Deep Black Pearl, Candy White, and Cherry Red.

Inside the cabin, the Taigun facelift receives a notable tech upgrade. It now gets a new 10.09-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for up to 15 integrated applications, alongside a 9-inch fully digital driver's display that also offers turn-by-turn navigation support.

The SUV also comes with Volkswagen's 'Hello Volkswagen' voice assistant, enabling hands-free control over functions such as climate settings, music playback, and more. On the comfort front, the SUV packs features like a panoramic sunroof with summer mode, rear windshield wiper as standard, smart touch climate control AC, and 6-way electrically adjustable ventilated front seats, among other convenience additions.

For occupant safety, the Taigun facelift is equipped with 6 airbags, electronic stability control, multi-collision braking, front and rear parking sensors, brake disc wiping, and 40+ additional safety functions.
