VinFast is one of the newest entrants in the Indian car market, focusing on electric vehicles. The Vietnamese brand started its journey in India by launching the VF6 and VF7 SUVs right before the festive season. Fast forward to December 2025, and the brand has ranked among the top five in electric car sales, surpassing well-known competitors like Hyundai and Kia during this period.

As per VAHAN data from December 29, Tata Motors maintained its dominance in the EV market with 5,231 registrations during this period. MG claimed the second position with sales totaling 3,054 units. Mahindra secured third place with 2,600 electric vehicles sold.

Meanwhile, VinFast recorded sales of 321 units in December. Hyundai achieved sales of 238 units. Kia outperformed Hyundai with 272 registrations, but still fell short of VinFast's figures. These December sales enabled VinFast to move into fourth place in the overall EV sales rankings. BMW rounded out the top five, selling 300 electric vehicles in December.

The VinFast VF6 and VF7, the brand's offerings in India, are priced between Rs 16.49 lakh and Rs 25.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This price range is one of the most competitive segments in the electric vehicle market, with many competing brands also offering products within this range.

The VF6 and VF7 are already competitively priced, and it is anticipated that VinFast will adopt an aggressive pricing strategy for the Limo Green as well. If this happens, the company could capture even more popular price segments. Following the launch of the Limo Green in India, we expect to see a significant increase in sales and market share.

Additionally, the automaker plans on entering the electric two-wheeler market with the launch of new products. The brand had earlier revealed that the models are presently undergoing a feasibility study and will be launched later in the country. Along with this, they plan on developing a charging network in the country.
