
The Indian automotive market is witnessing a remarkable upswing in the SUV segment. To cater to rising consumer demand and diversify their SUV lineups, leading automobile manufacturers are preparing to roll out new models. Both global giants and domestic brands, including Tata and Maruti Suzuki, have already mapped out their strategies for launching their next-generation SUVs. Here are the seven upcoming SUVs in the Indian market, worth waiting for.
Renault Duster
Renault is planning to introduce the third-gen Duster in the Indian market by 2026. The car has been launched in its latest avatar in South Africa, Turkey, and more. The India spec model is likely to be powered by a 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine. Also, the brand's CMF-B platform is expected to bring the 1.6-liter petrol strong hybrid on the cards, in the national market.
Tata Sierra
First unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the Tata Sierra is expected to launch in India by the festival season. The Tata Sierra could get a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, the ones from the Tata Nexon, or the 2.0-litre multijet from the Harrier as well. Also, the brand will be bringing the electrified iteration of the Sierra as well.

Maruti Suzuki Escudo
The Maruti Suzuki Escudo will likely be placed between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara in Maruti's lineup. Expected to feature a 1.5-liter petrol engine delivering 101.65 hp and 139 Nm of torque, a CNG option providing 86.79 hp, and a strong hybrid variant with a total output of 113.97 hp.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara
Maruti Suzuki recently confirmed the launch date for the long-awaited e-Vitara. As per reports, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be launched on 3rd September. The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be available with two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The smaller battery will provide a WLTP range of 346 km, while the larger battery pack is expected to deliver a range of 428 km in its single-motor version.

Renault Boreal
Renault has recently unveiled the Boreal SUV, which is expected to be launched in the Indian market by 2026. Based on the CMF-B platform, the Renault Boreal will be powered by a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine available in both petrol and flex-fuel variants, depending on the market. The flex-fuel interaction is capable of pushing out 160 bhp and a peak torque of up to 270 Nm.

Nissan SUV
Nissan teased its upcoming SUV for the Indian market long ago. The upcoming C-segment Nissan SUV will be based on the CMF-B platform of the brand, which has been used to underpin the Renault Duster as well. Upon launch, the Nissan SUV will rival cars like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, SKoda Kushaq, and more.
Hyundai Venue Facelift
Hyundai is readying the facelifted avatar of the Venue, and the test mule has been spotted plying on the national roads. The new-gen Hyundai Venue is liley to retain the current engine options, including the 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel engines. However, it will get a bunch of updates both inside and out to suit the facelift title.
