Renault Niagara Name Confirmed For Duster-Based Pickup Truck

Renault has officially confirmed the name of its upcoming Duster-based pickup truck, and it will be called the Renault Niagara. The French carmaker has also shared the first teaser of the new pickup ahead of its global debut on September 10, 2026. The upcoming Renault Niagara will be aimed mainly at Latin American markets and will be produced in Argentina later this year.

The Renault Niagara is the production version of the Niagara Concept that was first showcased in 2023. Renault has already been spotted testing the pickup truck on public roads, and the latest teaser now confirms that the final production model will carry the same Niagara nameplate.

The new Renault Niagara will be based on the latest-generation Renault Duster platform. Unlike traditional pickup trucks that use a ladder-frame chassis, the Renault Niagara will be built on a monocoque platform. Renault is expected to position the Niagara as a more practical and comfortable lifestyle pickup rather than a hardcore work truck.

In the teaser image, the rear design of the Renault Niagara can be seen with a large embossed "NIAGARA" lettering on the tailgate along with Renault branding. The pickup also gets a traditional drop-down tailgate and a rugged-looking cargo bed. Reports suggest the bed could feature protective liners and wheel arch intrusions for added practicality.

The Renault Niagara is expected to share many design and interior elements with the Renault Boreal, which is the seven-seater version of the Duster sold globally. However, the Niagara will likely be slightly longer and may offer a larger wheelbase for improved cargo-carrying ability.

Feature-wise, the Renault Niagara is expected to come loaded with modern tech. It could offer Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, hands-free parking, powered and massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Under the hood, the Renault Niagara is expected to get a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 163 bhp. Renault may also offer a 1.8-litre strong hybrid powertrain with nearly 160 bhp output. An advanced AWD system is also likely to be part of the package.
