The Renault Duster has received a 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP crash test. The new Duster made its debut in India in March 2026, making a comeback after nearly four years. Now, the SUV has been tested at the Bharat test bed, revealing the safety standards of the SUV. According to the report, the Renault Duster bagged 30.49 out of 32 points in the Adult Occupant Protection and 45 out of 49 points in the Child Occupant Protection. Even with a 5-star rating, the Duster is still behind the Kia Seltos, which garnered 31.70/32 for adult safety and 45/49 for child safety.
Renault Duster Bharat NCAP Crash Test: Adult Occupant Protection
The Renault Duster sets a strong benchmark in the Bharat NCAP crash evaluations, particularly in Adult Occupant Protection, showcasing balanced structural integrity across multiple impact scenarios. During the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the SUV delivered 'adequate' safety for the driver's chest, knees, and feet, while critical areas like the head, neck, and tibia received a 'good' rating. The co-passenger dummy, meanwhile, recorded 'good' protection across all measured regions, helping the Duster secure 14.49 out of 16 points in this segment.

In lateral impact assessments, the SUV continued its impressive run. It achieved a perfect 16 out of 16 score in the side deformable barrier test, reflecting strong side-impact resilience. Additionally, the side pole impact test was cleared comfortably, with the dummy registering 'good' protection levels, further reinforcing the vehicle's safety credentials.

Renault Duster Bharat NCAP Crash Test: Child Occupant Protection
Shifting focus to Child Occupant Protection, the Renault Duster maintained its high performance. It scored a flawless 24 out of 24 in the dynamic evaluation, highlighting effective restraint systems under simulated crash conditions. The CRS installation assessment also returned a perfect 12 out of 12, indicating ease and reliability of child seat fitment. In the vehicle assessment portion, the SUV managed a commendable 9 out of 13 points.

Combining all parameters, the Duster achieved an overall Child Occupant Protection score of 45 out of 49, placing it on par with the Kia Seltos in terms of child safety ratings.

The list of safety features for the Renault Duster includes six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seats, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, an electric parking brake, and, to round it all up, the SUV gets Level 2 ADAS.
