
Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan is facing an investigation into a case of luxury car tax evasion. The probe is being conducted by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Customs under a nationwide operation against tax evasion on luxury and illegally imported cars. The operation is named 'Numkhor' with Kerala being the focus area.
Actor Dulquer Salmaan is among multiple celebrities under investigation by Customs for suspected tax evasion. Recently, extensive inspections took place at 30 sites across the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kozhikode, and Malappuram, including the homes of Salmaan and actor Prithviraj.

According to sources, the Customs department is expected to summon Salmaan for a statement. Other agencies, such as the National Investigation Agency (NIA), might also get involved due to the national security concerns linked to the case. Furthermore, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will begin an investigation, as mentioned by the ED counsel in court today.
The luxury vehicle market is frequently prone to illegal tax evasion schemes, which call for detailed examinations. The 'Numkhor' operation aims to tackle various dimensions of this issue, including documentation, registration processes, and transportation routes.
It is to be noted that Dulquer Salmaan is known for being an automobile enthusiast and owns multiple exotic cars. The list of models in his multi-crore garage includes a Ferrari 296 GTB, a Porsche 911 GT3, a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a BMW M3 E46, a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, and more. Many of these cars are worth crores, and while some, like the SLS AMG and the M3 46, are even more special because they are out of production, and are revered among car enthusiasts.
