With diesel sedans disappearing from the budget space, CNG SUVs emerge as the smarter alternative for value-focused buyers. They offer significantly lower running costs, cleaner emissions, widespread fuel availability and the added practicality of higher ground clearance, making them ideal for city commutes daily use.

Hyundai Exter

The Hyundai Exter is powered by a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine, and buyers also get an option for a CNG kit. The powermill churns out a peak power and torque output of 69 hp at 6, 000 rpm and 95.2 Nm at 4 000 rpm. The prices of the Hyundai Exter CNG begin from Rs 6,99, 900 (ex-showroom).

Tata Punch

Tata Motors recently updated the Punch with a fresh design and new features to the list. The Punch SUV gets multiple engine options, including a 1.2L Revotron iCNG, mated with 5-speed MT and AT options, and gives out 73.3 hp and 103 Nm in the CNG mode.

Tata Nexon

The second Tata car in the list of CNG SUVs under Rs 10 lakh is the Tata Nexon, credited as India's first car to combine a turbocharged engine with factory-fitted CNG. The Tata Nexon iCNG gets a 1.2L Turbocharged Revotorq Engine, joined with a 6 Speed MT gearbox, producing 73.52 hp of peak power and 170 Nm of max torque in the CNG mode.

The prices of the Tata Nexon iCNG start from Rs 8.30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Brezza

Powering the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is a 1.5-liter K-series engine with S-CNG technology, producing 87.8 hp and 121.5 Nm of peak power and torque (CNG). The Maruti Suzuki Brezza gets a CNG option for the LXi MT, VXi MT, and ZXi MT variant, the prices of which start from Rs 9.17 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx gets multiple powertrain options, including a 1.2-liter petrol+ CNG engine,mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox, claiming to deliver a peak power and torque output of 77.5 hp and 98.5 Nm. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx's CNG variants begin at Rs 8.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
