Mercedes-Benz is going to take forward its plan of launching multiple new products in the Indian market with the debut of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 coupe on August 12. The car made its global debut back in December 2024 as a replacement for both the C-Class and the E-Class coupes. With this, the German brand will streamline the lineup to form a single line of performance-oriented luxury coupes.
In terms of aesthetics, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe features the signature AMG style, complete with the Panamericana grille at the front, more aggressive bumpers and side skirts, a quad-tailpipe exhaust, and 19-inch AMG alloy rims. The AMG CLE also includes extra vents on the front fender to help manage airflow from the wheel arches.

Inside the cabin, the CLE 53 carries over the C-Class-inspired design with a prominent portrait-style touchscreen that dominates the center console, round air-conditioning vents, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel situated behind the steering wheel. The differences from the standard CLE are evident in the sportier AMG front seats, an AMG steering wheel, and unique AMG-themed graphics for the digital displays.
The CLE 53 coupe is equipped with the M256 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbocharged engine, complemented by a 48V mild-hybrid system. It generates 443 hp and 560 Nm of peak torque, and an additional 40 Nm boost in torque is available through the overboost function. The power is delivered via a 9-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels, utilizing Mercedes' 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive technology.
The Mercedes-AMG CLE's top speed is electronically capped at 250 kmph, and it can accelerate to 100 kmph in a claimed 4.2 seconds. Braking performance is supported by 370 mm discs with four-piston calipers at the front and 360 mm discs with single-piston calipers at the rear.
The forthcoming AMG CLE 53 Coupe is anticipated to be priced higher than the existing C-Class Coupe; and will compete directly with the BMW M2 and Audi RS5, according to ex-showroom prices in India.
