
July brings the travel season into full swing, drawing people to tourist hotspots despite heavy mountain rains. Many adventure-seekers plan their trips with weather and safety in mind, though some still overlook basic precautions. Recently, we came across a video that shows a reckless event, featuring the Mahindra Thar.
The video is shared by Rohit Thakur on his Instagram handle, which shows a bunch of tourists attempting to cross a river in their Mahindra Thar. However, the adventure turned out to be a reckless decision as the high river current swept the 4X4 SUV. Though the car and the tourists were later rescued with the help of the crane. Reports also claim that fortunately, the threatening situation was taken under control, leading to no fatalities.
As per the video, we can see two tourists attempting to get a joy ride in a river situated in Maldevta, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The red 4X4 SUV went out of control while one of the tourists can be seen standing on the left door, while the other tourist was trying to steer the Thar to a safe spot.

Crane Rescues Mahindra Thar
Ultimately, luck turned in their favour as the tourists were able to park the car alongside a rock and came to a halt. Later, a crane was brought to rescue the car to a safe spot away from the river. The video also shows the crane on a support by an earthmover machine.

It is also safe to assume that the tourists might have parked their Mahindra Thar quite close to the river, leading to the mishap. Till now, there have been no reports about the fatality of the tourists, while the condition of the car is still unknown.
