Ferrari has officially confirmed the name of its first all-electric sports car - Ferrari Luce. The announcement was made at a special event in San Francisco on February 9, 2026, where the company also offered a glimpse of the car's interior design and digital interface. The Luce represents a fresh chapter in Ferrari's naming strategy and signals the brand's entry into the EV era.

The cabin design has been developed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the design collective co-founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive. The approach is deliberately retro-inspired, with a strong emphasis on tactile controls such as knobs and switches, rather than relying solely on touchscreens. Ferrari says this philosophy is intended to keep the driving experience engaging and intuitive.

One of the standout elements is the steering wheel, which draws inspiration from the classic three-spoke wooden wheels of Ferrari's 1950s and 1960s models. In the Luce, it has been reimagined using recycled aluminium alloy, giving it a lightweight yet premium feel. The wheel integrates triangular pods with aviation-style controls, including rotary switches for driving modes such as Range, Tour, and Performance. A red manettino dial on the right allows drivers to toggle chassis settings like Ice, Wet, Dry, Sport, and ESC Off.

The instrument cluster is another highlight. A 12.5-inch binnacle sits directly on the steering column, featuring aviation-inspired dials powered by bespoke Samsung OLED displays. The central dial combines a physical needle with a digital speed readout, while additional dials show battery status, power regeneration, tyre pressure, and even G-force data. The top OLED layer can illuminate warnings, navigation prompts, or shift aids.

Ferrari has also introduced a unique launch control system, activated by pulling a grip above the driver's head - a nod to helicopter controls. Surrounding switches manage exterior lighting. Practicality hasn't been ignored either: the centre console includes cup holders, physical buttons for boot and lock functions, and switches for all four windows. Rear passengers get their own touchscreen, displaying speed, lap times, and more.

Originally referred to as the Elettrica during development, the Ferrari Luce will be fully unveiled in May 2026. With its blend of heritage-inspired design and modern technology, the Luce marks Ferrari's bold step into electrification while staying true to its identity as a driver-focused brand.
