Ducati has announced a global recall for its Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 models due to a critical rear axle defect. The issue, which poses serious safety risks, affects 393 units in India and requires urgent replacement to prevent potential accidents. Also, the brand said that it has started reaching out to the owners to schedule the axle replacement procedure.
According to reports, Ducati North America is recalling more than 10,000 Ducati Panigale V4 and Streetfighter motorcycles. Documents filed with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) in the US reported a total of 11 cases of axle failure worldwide with the company. Surprisingly, none of these cases were from the United States market.

Talking about the Indian market, this recall will affect 393 units of the Ducati Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4. However, the models with manufacturing years between 2018-2025 will only be affected. As reported earlier, the brand has already started connecting with the customers, and the brand will be replacing the rear wheel shaft free of cost.

Although no major issue has been officially cited, a 2023 incident could have prompted the recall decision. The incident occurred due to the breakage of the rear wheel axle while the motorcycle was in motion. As per NHTSA documents in the US, axle failure may stem from factors like mileage, vehicle wear, or torque errors in the rear axle due to wheel or chain adjustments.
