Citroen has added the Basalt X to the variant lineup of the coupe SUV in the Indian market. With the 'X' suffix in the name, the vehicle gets upgrades over the top-spec Max trim level. It is to be noted that the Basalt X comes at an introductory price of Rs 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and has been available for bookings since August 22. The consumers who wish to book the SUV can do it for a token amount of Rs 11,000.
In terms of appearance, the coupe-SUV follows in the footsteps of the C3X and comes without any changes in the design. However, it now gets the Basalt X badge placed on the tailgate. The rest of the details remain the same, with the identifying factors being the front fascia consisting of the DRL placed above the headlamp, giving the vehicle a unique design. At the same time, the dipping roofline giving the vehicle a coupe look also remains the same.

The area where the Basalt X Max shines is in the features. Cara is exclusively available in the automatic versions of the Basalt X Max.
Apart from that, the feature list also includes ventilated seating, cruise control, keyless entry, a push-button ignition, white ambient lighting, LED fog lights, an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, and an optional 360-degree camera.
The Citroen Basalt X variant maintains the same engine specifications as the Max variants, equipped with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 110 hp that can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The entry-level Basalt X variants are powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 82 hp with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
