Citroen India is all set to launch Basalt X in the Indian market on September 5. Consumers who wish to buy the vehicle can book by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. This comes as part of the brand's new strategy to improve its reach in the country. Before the launch, the brand had been teasing the new iteration of the coupe-SUV. Earlier, the brand had launched the C3X, which is an upgraded version of the hatchback.

The upcoming Citroen Basalt X is expected to receive similar upgrades as the C3X. Aside from a ‘Basalt X' badge, there will be no additional cosmetic modifications to the vehicle. The colour options and design features will stay consistent with those of the current Basalt. It is likely to be positioned as the premium variant above the standard Basalt, meaning it should come with all the premium features that the manufacturer is capable of providing.

Based on previous teasers, it's confirmed that the Citroen Basalt X will feature cruise control, an engine start/stop button, and a dashboard that includes a leatherette finish. It's anticipated that these features may also be available in other Citroen models, including the Aircross. It is also expected to come equipped with a 360-degree surround view camera.

The Citroen Basalt X will likely have the same 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine found under the hood in the standard model. This engine generates 108 bhp and can deliver up to 205 Nm of torque, depending on the transmission selected.
