Madhya Pradesh polls: Jyotiraditya Scindia could have given us tough competition, says Uma Bharti
Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh ,the BJP is counting on exit polls to be proven right today with a massive victory for Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who has asked voters for a third straight term as Chief Minister.

The exit poll of polls - an aggregate of the different polls conducted for the state - shows Mr Chouhan, 54, and the BJP landing 141 seats, comfortably past the half-way mark of 115 in the state legislature.

The Congress party's campaign was led by young Jyotiraditya Scindia. "I like him... he is a very good leader. He could have given us tough competition," said BJP leader Uma Bharti, known for her straight talk.

"I can say this now because voting has ended!" she told NDTV. She also said that in her opinion, she finds Mr Scindia a far stronger leader than Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Uma Bharti, who has in the past been chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, campaigned in 50 constituencies this time for the BJP. She quit the party in 2005 and returned six years later.  "The trust deficit is over," she said of her return to the fold.
