Bihar polls: RJD releases list of 65 candidates

Patna: RJD released its first list of 65 candidates for 92 Assembly constituencies going to polls in the first two phases in Bihar on Thursday.

The party retained most of its sitting MLAs including senior leaders Abdul Bari Siddiqui and Ramchandra Purve. Two sitting MLAs Ramchandra Nishad and Ashok Verma were, however, not given tickets this time.

Under a seat-sharing arrangement with LJP, RJD is contesting 168 seats, leaving 75 of the 243 seats for Ram Vilas Paswan's party.

As per the list released at a press conference, Siddiqui, who is also the state RJD chief, will contest from Alinagar.

Senior RJD leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan said the party has given due attention to "M-Y (Muslim-Yadav)" factor while accommodating every section in the list.
