These pictures are of one of the world's most famous women but we guarantee you will hardly recognize her in them. This is the Angelina Jolie you never knew existed - laughing gleefully, making funny faces - in an intimate, monochromatic peek into the actress' life that's made extra special because of who the photographer is: her actor husband, Brad Pitt.
The pictures were clicked in November 2008, when Brad Pitt was commissioned by
W Magazine to capture a week in the life of his family at their home in the South of France. According the magazine, even though Brad Pitt was an amateur photographer at the time, he knew exactly how he wanted to shoot the pictures. He had even asked for a camera that hadn't been manufactured for four years.
"I wasn't prepared for the beauty and intimacy of the images he made of Angelina and the children," W magazine's Creative Director Dennis Freedman said.
We couldn't agree more. The photographs, black and white with a grainy texture, are extremely personal and breathtaking.
