Going Viral: She Applied a Full Face of Make-Up While in Labour
You haven't known make-up obsession until you've met beauty blogger Alaha Majid, who put on make-up - false eyelashes and all - while in labour.

Ms Majid, who lives in New York, posted pictures of herself doing up her face while lying on her hospital bed. Her room looked more like a dressing room, with cosmetics, brushes and cotton wool strewn around, than a delivery room.

The make-up artist had first posted a picture introducing her new born daughter, named Sofia Alaya Karimi, on February 18. In the picture, you can clearly see the glam look she was aiming for.

That really doesn't look like the face of someone who has just given birth. Ms Majid looks absolutely ready for her close-up.

In her post, she explained that she went "full glam" for the birth of her daughter. "I'll post more pics later of me doing my makeup DURING Labor and pausing for the severe contractions lol," she said in her post. For those of you wondering, she had a natural birth and it was "tough". Guess the make-up made it easier for her to cope with her contractions.

As promised, Alaha Majid did post more pictures of herself applying make-up and these of course went steadily viral.

"I only packed some of my favorite products in my hospital bag," she explained in one post. These included two eyeshadow palettes, a foundation, a contour kit, false eyelashes, brushes and a holder, some lipsticks and some more products. Phew, that's quite a lot.

A girl's gotta look her best no matter what. But how did Ms Majid divide up her delivery room time? "I was pausing during contractions and picking up where I left off once the contractions passed," she explained.

Even her husband helped her out. "When the contractions got too strong, hubby was there to save the day," she said in her post. It's always nice to see a loving and supportive husband, right?
