Two more arrested in Goa multiple murder case

Panaji: The Goa Police have made two more arrests in the Goa multiple murder case.

Wife of accused Chandrakant Talwar and a minor have been arrested in connection with the case. Phones of two victims have also been found on Chandrakant's wife Grishma.

Earlier, with the two men arrested in Mumbai and brought to Goa on Saturday confessing to committing three murders, the Goa Police had claimed to have solved seven of the eight murders which rocked the state between October 12 and 14.

Officials said Chandrakant Talwar, 35, and Syron Rodrigues, 20, arrested on Friday in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old girl on October 12, had also confessed to murdering two more women and burning their bodies.

"They were arrested in connection with the minor girl's murder. But they have also confessed to murdering and burning two other women in other parts of Goa," a police officer said.

With this confession, police claimed that they had accounted for seven of the eight murders which took place within 72 hours.
