'Fresh n Fit', Says Arvind Kejriwal Before Heading Back to Delhi

Arvind Kejriwal has been in Bengaluru for 10 days, under naturopathy treatment and performing yoga.

New Delhi:

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who flies back to Delhi today after 10 days on a health farm, has tweeted that he is "fresh n fit" and "excited" that he is coming back to work.

"Cough gone, sugar under control. Feeling fresh n fit. Am excited to return to resume work," tweeted Mr Kejriwal, who returns to Delhi this evening.

He also thanked doctors and others at the Jindal Nature Cure Institute on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where he did yoga and was kept on a strict diet through 10 days of naturopathy for cough and diabetes.

The Chief Minister needs all that fitness to address the problems that await him in Delhi. His Aam Aadmi Party is grappling with an internal crisis with the top leadership warring and has just weathered a controversy over a sting operation by a former lawmaker who has alleged that Mr Kejriwal tried to poach Congress MLAs for support to an AAP government last year.

The 46-year-old AAP chief was admitted to the institute along with his parents and booked a suite called the 'Nest'. Doctors have advised Mr Kejriwal a strong follow up for lifestyle modification, dietary changes and the daily practice of yoga.

Mr Kejriwal took leave only days after being sworn in as Delhi's Chief Minister, at the head of a government that has an overwhelming majority in the state - AAP won 67 of Delhi's 70 seats in elections held last month.

His deputy in both party and government, Manish Sisodia, told NDTV on the weekend that Mr Kejriwal's absence and the recent wrangling in the party has affected government work.

"Arvind gives me a call once a day to check on things. Two things happened simultaneously - crisis in the party and Arvind's absence - both have impacted... I try to ensure things are in place," Mr Sisodia told NDTV after presenting his report card on completing one month in office.
