Bengal not to oppose release of arrested tribal women

Midnapore (West Bangal):

To ensure the safe return of policeofficer Atindranath Dutta, abducted by the Maoists, the West Bengal governmentwill not oppose the release of arrested tribal women in West Midnaporedistrict.

 

"We will produce all the tribalwomen, who were arrested from various parts of the district after beingsuspected as Maoists, to the Judicial Magistrate court here tomorrow," saidDistrict Magistrate Narayan Swaroop Nigam.

 

"The state government will notoppose their bail prayers in the court as demanded by the Maoist leaderKishanji," added Nigam.

 

Earlierin the day, Kishanji had demanded the release of elderly tribal women.
