The AirSewa portal is an attempt to provide a systematic approach to redress passenger grievances.

New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajpathi Raju on Friday launched the AirSewa portal and mobile app as an initiative to offer convenient and hassle-free air travel experience.

The Civil Aviation Ministry said the new initiative will operate through an interactive web portal as well as a mobile app for both android and iOS platforms.

The portal includes a mechanism for grievance redressal, back office operations for grievance handling, flight status, schedule and airport information.

According to Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha, the AirSewa portal and app is an attempt to provide a systematic approach to redress passenger grievances.

The Ministry elaborated that passengers will now be able to register their grievances through the mobile app or a web portal.

"Nodal officers have been selected for all stakeholder agencies, who will address the grievance in a time bound manner," the Ministry said in a statement.

"Each grievance shared will be directed to the responsible nodal agency for resolution based on the grievance category chosen by the complainant."

The statement further said users will have an option to check the flight status and schedule between any of airports through the portal.
