Hyderabad:
Two policemen were stabbed to death by unidentifed people in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, prompting a full scale investigation into the matter, the police said in Hyderabad on Monday.
After a phone call from unknown callers on Sunday evening about some anti-social activity near a reserve forest area on the outskirts of Palamaner town, two policemen including constable Jawahar Naik (25) and homeguard Devrajulu (22) went to the spot and failed to return.
"Both the policemen rushed to the spot, but as they did not return, we searched the forest area and
found their bodies," Chittoor district Superintendent of Police PHD Ramakrishna told PTI.
Devrajulu's body had stab injuries on his chest while Jawahar's body had stab injuries near his kidneys, the SP said.
"We have booked a case of double murder and are investigating it from all angles. Six special teams have been formed to crack the case and nab the offenders," the senior police officer said.
