New Delhi: A day after Lt Governor Najeeb Jung asked Delhi Police to step up efforts to trace missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed, the force has made a small video with his details that will be shared on its official Twitter handle and aired across news channels.

"We have created a small teaser with details about contact numbers and Najeeb's photographs so that maximum people get to know about the matter and we can find him," a senior police officer said.

Meanwhile, the SIT team today questioned nine ABVP activists, including Vikrant, who were allegedly involved in a brawl with Najeeb in the JNU hostel.

On Saturday, the Lt Governor held a meeting with top cops, including the Special Commissioner (law and order), the Joint CP (South-East Range), the Head of SIT and had taken stock of the investigation in the case. He also increased the reward money from Rs one lakh to Rs two lakh for giving information about the whereabouts of the missing student.

27-year-old Ahmed, a student of School of Biotechnology and a native of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh, went missing on October 15 following an on-campus scuffle allegedly with the members of ABVP the night before.

Police said over 20,000 posters of Najeeb have been pasted in Delhi and outside.

Delhi Police teams have been sent to Ajmer, Kota, Bareilley, Roorkee, Faizabad, Azamgarh, Badaun and other neighbouring cities.

While participating in a solidarity meeting at JNU on November 3, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal had said Najeeb would come back only when Prime Minister Narendra Modi could be made to realise that he was losing votes over the issue.

Mr Kejriwal, who had frequent run-ins with the Delhi Police, said the force would not dare to pursue any investigation in this regard as "RSS students' wing ABVP was involved in the brawl following which Najeeb went missing."
