Hyderabad bomb blasts: Among the injured, man who survived 2007 Mecca Masjid blast

Abdul Wasey Marzey.

Hyderabad: Abdul Wasey Marzey, 23, is at the Yashoda hospital in Hyderabad, being treated for rib and leg injuries. He was injured in the blasts that ripped through the city's congested Dilsukhnagar area last evening.

This is not the first time that Mr Marzey has been injured in a terror strike. In 2007, when he was 18, he was hurt in the leg in the blast at Hyderabad's Mecca masjid, which killed 17 people.

A shaken Mirza Shahid, Abdul Wasey's father, says, "I am hopeful my son will fight this too and come out of hospital. The culprits should be brought to book."

Mr Marzey is one of 117 people injured in yesterday's blasts. Many were, like him, young people in their early 20s.

Sixteen people died in Thursday's blasts, among them two MBA students and a 24-year-old man who wanted to be a policeman.
