Jagan Mohan Reddy's questioning by CBI to continue today

Jagan Mohan Reddy, chief of the YSR Congress, emerged smiling from the Dilkusha Guest House in Hyderabad after nearly eight hours of questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday in connection with a disproportionate assets case against him. He has been asked to return for more questioning at 10.30 am today.

31 candidates file nominations for Pudukottai by-poll

Thirty one candidates have filed their nominations for the June 12 by-poll to the Pudukottai Assembly constituency which will witness a direct face-off between former allies AIAMDK and DMDK for the second consecutive time in an electoral battle this year.Nominations closed today with AIADMK's Karthik Thondaiman and DMDK's Jahir Hussain, among others, filing their papers for the by-poll which was necessitated following the death of CPI MLA P Muthukumaran in a road accident on April 1, 2012.

Court reserves verdict on Bidari case for May 28

The Karnataka High Court has reserved its judgement for May 28, on the plea filed by Director General of Police (DGP), S M Bidari seeking his reinstatement as the Inspector General and Director General of Police, Karnataka.A Division Bench, comprising Justice N Kumar and Justice HS Kempanna, reserved the verdict on the petition after the conclusion of arguments by both sides.
