Six Kingfisher flights cancelled as oil companies stop fuel supply

Six Kingfisher flights cancelled as oil companies stop fuel supply
Kingfisher Airlines saw flights delays and cancellations this evening, after oil companies stopped supplying fuel to the airline because their bills have not been settled.

At least six flights were cancelled this evening; passengers using Kingfisher complained of lengthy delays.

The Vijay Mallya-owned airline has been put on"a cash-and-carry payment option" by oil companies for the past ten month - so payments need to be cleared everyday for fuel and no credit or tabs are allowed.

The airline later said that the issue has been resolved and all the flight operations are normal.

"Due to a minor issue with one of our ATF suppliers there was a temporary disruption of supplies leading to a delay on some flights. The matter has since been clarified and regular supplies of ATF were commenced immediately thereafter. All flights will continue to operate normally. We regret any inconvenience caused to our valued guests," Kingfisher said in a statement.
