Chaos inside Karnataka Assembly

Bangalore:  Unruly scenes broke out near the Karnataka Assembly entrance on Monday with  members of opposition Congress, JD (S) and rebels entering into a  wordy duel with police, defying the security cordon and barging into the House.

JDS MLAs accompanied by 16 MLAs were prevented from entering the House leading to jostling and culminating in the opposition MLAs breaking open the gates.

Some disqualified MLAs also entered into the Assembly hall ignoring the pleas of marshals.

There was also a show down between Congress leader Siddaramaiah and city police commissioner Shankar Bidari, who blocked the entry of opposition MLAs into the House.
 
An angry Siddaramaiah and JDS leader HD Revanna were locked in heated exchanges questioning the authority of Bidari inside the House.

Siddaramaiah and Revanna rejected the appeals by Bidari to maintain discipline and forced their way into the House. In the melee, one of the marshal become the target of attack and collapsed.

Opposition members shouted slogans against Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa charging him with indulging in acts of "goondaism".

The state Assembly witnessed lawlessness with police who are barred from entering the place also forcing their way and making vain attempt to evict some of the disqualified MLAs.
 
In the midst of rumpus scenes, Yeddyurappa entered the House.

Some of the opposition members perched atop the Speaker's podium and chanted slogans.
