Thane:
A hospital in Thane was today allegedly ransacked and the medical staff manhandled by an irate mob following the death of a patient, the police said.
According to the police, a man from Mumbra was brought to the civil hospital after he sustained injuries in an attack.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead, which angered the relatives and they ransacked the hospital.
They added that the deceased was a relative of a local political leader. Tension prevailed at the hospital premises following the incident and security was enhanced.
