Revenue Official Caught While Accepting Bribe

Indore: A woman state government revenue department official was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta police at Hatod area, around 20 km from Indore today, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,500 to record a transaction of agriculture land, a top official said.

Deepika Yadav (32) demanded bribe from Radheshyam, a resident of Hatod, to create a record of an agriculture land in his name at Bajlana village.

Mr Radheshyam had bought the land and wanted it to be included in the government land record, Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Arun Mishra said.

"After Radheshyam complained, we laid a trap and arrested Deepika Yadav accepting a Rs 2,500 bribe red-handed at her office," Mr Mishra said.

She has been booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
