Mathura:
A woman died on the spot and her husband sustained critical injury when their motorbike was hit by a Haryana Roadways bus at Goverdhan crossing on Mathura highway today, police said.
The accident occurred when Mohan Swarup and his wife Asha (44) of Fatehpur Sikari were going to condole the death of a relative in Chamunda in Kotwali police station area.
When they reached the Goverdhan crossing and turned left towards Krishna Nagar, the Haryana Roadways bus hit their motorbike, killing Asha on the spot and injuring Mohan, police said.
Mohan was rushed to the district hospital where his condition was stated to be "stable".
"The bus has been taken under custody and its driver, Charan Singh, arrested," a police officer said, adding that an investigation is on into the matter.
