Delhi: Another Hot, Sultry Day With High Humidity

New Delhi: High levels of humidity made the weather hot and sultry today with the maximum temperature settling close to 36 degrees Celsius in Delhi.

According to the Meteorological department, the maximum temperature settled at 35.8 degree Celsius, which was two notches above normal and slightly up from yesterday's 34.6 degree Celsius.

The minimum temperature was registered at 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal and marginally higher from the previous day's reading of 26.5 degree Celsius.

As rain eluded the national capital and clouds gave way to sunshine, the temperature gradually soared as the day progressed. This -- coupled with high humidity levels which oscillated between 56 and 86 per cent -- made life uncomfortable for Delhiites.

The weather department has predicted generally cloudy sky for tomorrow, with the possibility of light rains and thunderstorms in some parts of the national capital.

"The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 35 and 29 degrees Celsius respectively," said an official.
