Dubai: To show solidarity with France and victims of Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris, the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates, was illuminated on Sunday in red, white and blue, colors of France's national flag.

Local media illustrated the 828-meter building in Dubai, Burj Al Arab, world's only seven-star hotel, and Capital Gate building in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi were all lit up in colors of the French flag.

The UAE president, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, condemned the "heinous terrorist attacks" in Paris, and extended his heartfelt condolences to the French government, the people of France and the families of the victims.

Some 30,000 French expatriates are living in the UAE, and thousands of French tourists visit the country annually, according to local media. The French embassy in the UAE has warned its citizens in the Gulf state to be on guard.
