- SpiceJet to run 14 UAE-India flights on March 6 to bring home stranded Indian travellers.
- Thirteen flights from Fujairah and one from Dubai will connect passengers to major Indian cities.
- Over 1,700 India–West Asia flights cancelled since Feb 28, prompting emergency SpiceJet ops.
SpiceJet will operate 14 special flights from March 6 from the United Arab Emirates to India as flight cancellations across West Asia continue due to the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict. The airline, which announced the news on its official X handle on March 5, is adding capacity from Fujairah and Dubai, where many Indian travellers have been waiting for outbound options after airspace restrictions severely disrupted routine commercial services.

Part Of Broader Relief Operations
The special flights on March 6 come after three days of intensive operations, during which SpiceJet operated 25 evacuation services from the UAE to Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi. The Hindu reported that the airline is coordinating with authorities as part of India's wider efforts to repatriate citizens affected by Middle East airspace closures.
Price Range: What Travellers Can Expect
Flight prices on these emergency routes remain significantly higher than usual due to limited availability and compressed scheduling. As of March 6, the fare from Fujairah to Delhi is ₹93,374. Travellers booking last‑minute seats for these special operations can expect fares to range roughly between ₹78,000 and ₹94,000, depending on route, date, time of booking and remaining inventory.
Why Additional Flights Are Necessary
The conflict in West Asia has caused widespread cancellations across Indian carriers and Gulf airlines. As per reports, 1,770 flights were cancelled on India–West Asia routes between 28 February and 5 March, affecting thousands of passengers across the Gulf. With multiple Middle Eastern airspaces closed or restricted, airlines such as IndiGo, Air India, Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways have cut or rerouted services, leaving many Indian nationals in the UAE without immediate travel options. These special SpiceJet flights will help accommodate those stranded until normal schedules are restored.
