In a move to strengthen tourism ties and boost outbound travel from India, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has decided to partner with IndiGo Airlines. They signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in July 2025. This collaboration is STB's maiden alliance with an Indian airline as well as IndiGo's first partnership with a national tourism board. This year-long partnership has been timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore. It aims to do more than enhance air connectivity between the two countries.

Under this strategic pact, the two partners will promote Singapore as a "leading leisure and business destination" for Indian travellers and boost bookings through the airline's extensive network, as per an official statement. India remains a critical market for Singapore - Indians accounted for over half a million visitor arrivals in the first half of 2025 alone. The country continues to rank among Singapore's top three source markets for inbound travel. Under the expanded agreement, STB and IndiGo will jointly launch a comprehensive campaign that combines trade and consumer-facing initiatives. This expanded partnership follows the success of the earlier "Untold Singapore" campaign. The promotional push will include digital and influencer-led storytelling, co-branded travel packages, roadshows, travel trade training, and curated familiarisation trips.
A key highlight of the partnership is the introduction of IndiGo Stretch, the airline's newly announced premium product offering. It is set to be launched on Singapore's National Day, August 9. The service will debut on the Delhi-Singapore and Mumbai-Singapore routes. IndiGo Stretch features a business-class-style 2-2 seat layout. Passengers enjoy extra legroom with 38-inch seat pitch, priority services, premium dining, and enhanced baggage allowances, among other amenities. This service is a significant upgrade in the low-cost carrier's international offering. Another aspect of the collaboration is a shared data-driven approach. STB and IndiGo plan to leverage consumer insights to tailor offerings to different segments of the Indian market. The MoU also emphasises the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment.

Currently, Changi Airport enjoys robust connectivity with India. It operates over 270 weekly flights from 15 Indian cities. IndiGo itself connects nine of these cities to Singapore. The new service may further facilitate travel for both leisure and business passengers.
