Flight prices are never constant. At one moment, you're ready to book your ticket, having found the perfect deal. But the second you refresh the online booking portal, the fare suddenly shoots up – as if it just remembered it's peak travel season. This rollercoaster of changing fares may soon come to an end. The reason? On Monday, 13 October, the government-owned regional carrier Alliance Air launched a new airfare scheme known as "Fares Se Fursat."

Under this initiative, passengers will be relieved from the stress of fluctuating airfares. The "Fares Se Fursat" scheme was inaugurated by the Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, in the presence of Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha, Alliance Air Chairman Amit Kumar, and airline CEO Rajarshi Sen. The perks of this special initiative will offer passengers a single, fixed fare. Unlike variable prices, the new directive ensures that rates remain constant regardless of the booking date – even on the day of departure – as per the official press release by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The "Fares Se Fursat" initiative will be implemented on a pilot basis from 13 October to 31 December this year across selected routes. Through this process, the operational feasibility and passenger response will be determined. The scheme also aims to make flying more convenient for first-time travellers from smaller towns.

India's aviation sector is dominated by dynamic pricing, and flight costs change in real-time. Passengers often feel frustrated by price hikes, unable to book their desired flights due to high fares. But the newly launched "Fares Se Fursat" scheme aims to fix that problem by bringing more clarity and consistency to ticket pricing – suitable for the "middle class, lower-middle class, and neo-middle class."

Speaking about making Indian aviation more passenger-focused, Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu shared, "We have launched Udan Yatri Cafes offering tea for ₹10, coffee for ₹20, and snacks for ₹20 at airports. It's making air travel more dignified and affordable." With "Fares Se Fursat", Alliance Air hopes to make air travel not just affordable but also predictable – giving passengers the confidence to plan their journeys without worrying about last-minute fare surges.
