The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has rolled out revised meal options for passengers travelling on the Kamakhya-Howrah-Kamkhya Vande Bharat Sleeper train. The travellers will now be able to choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal options on their trip. As per the revised menu, passengers travelling on the 27575 Howrah-Kamakhya service can expect a delectable spread that includes ghee rice, basanti pulao, and green peas pulao, accompanied by paratha, along with a selection of dals such as cholar dal, bhaja moong dal, and mixed dal.

The vegetable preparations include aloo gajar methi matar bhaja, aloo gobi kadaisuti bhaja and jhuri aloo bhaja. For main courses, vegetarian options feature matar paneer, chanar dalna, and dhokar dalna, while non-vegetarian options comprise Bengali chicken curry, murgh rogini, and murgir jhol. Passengers can also indulge in sandesh, kala jamun and kheer kadam for desserts.

On the return journey, the 27576 Kamakhya-Howrah service's dinner menu includes jeera rice, jeera corn pula and kismis pulao, paired with tehdar paratha, mixed dal and a choice of vegetable dishes such as lesera aloo bhaji, bhendi aloo bhaji and beans aloo bhaji. 

Vegetarian main courses feature paneer masala and kadai paneer, while non-vegetarian options include Assamese-style chicken masala and chicken curry. Desserts on this leg of the journey include narikal burfi, rasgulla, and lalmohan. Passengers on both services can enjoy morning tea with biscuits and muffins between 6:30 am and 8 am.

Eastern Railway said that the menu revamp is designed to cater to the food preferences of passengers from West Bengal. The Vande Bharat Sleeper service, which was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, commenced its commercial operations from Kamakhya on January 22 and from Howrah on January 23. This train is the country's first Vande Bharat sleeper service and operates six days a week between the two stations.
