Noida is preparing for a major travel upgrade. In a move that could completely change how bus travel feels in the city, the Uttar Pradesh government is planning to build a massive airport-style bus terminal in Sector 90, Noida. And this is not just another bus stand with a few extra seats. You can expect modern lounges, shopping spaces, movie theatres, air-conditioned waiting zones, food courts, restaurants, and even VIP passenger rooms.

Noida's Upcoming Bus Terminal To Feature Shopping Complex And AC Lounges

The new bus terminal is being designed to make bus travel feel far more comfortable and premium. If all goes according to plan, the terminal is expected to become operational within the next two years after construction begins.

The biggest highlight of this terminal is the airport-like passenger experience. Travellers will get access to spacious, fully air-conditioned waiting areas. There will also be VIP lounges and dedicated resting rooms for added comfort. And if you usually reach bus stations too early and end up waiting around with nothing to do, that could soon change. The terminal will feature a large shopping complex, multiple food courts and restaurants, a movie theatre, and dedicated spaces for retail outlets and services.

Interestingly, around 55 per cent of the terminal's total area will be reserved for passenger facilities, while the remaining 45 per cent will be used for shops and commercial establishments. This means it is being designed as both a transport hub and an urban lifestyle space.

Waiting Time To Get Easier For Travellers

One of the most practical upgrades is that the terminal will operate 24 hours a day. This is especially useful for passengers travelling on late-night and early-morning routes, something that often becomes inconvenient at many regular bus stations due to limited facilities.

The new terminal is also expected to launch direct bus services to major states, including Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. This could significantly reduce the need for passengers to first travel to Delhi or other nearby transit points before beginning interstate journeys.

One of the most useful additions will be special air-conditioned buses connecting passengers directly to the upcoming Noida International Airport. This could become a game-changer once the airport begins full operations. Flyers will finally be able to ditch expensive cabs and depend on an affordable and efficient public transport connection.

To strengthen city-wide connectivity, the Noida Authority and Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will jointly operate 50 new electric buses. The buses will be run by UPSRTC, while the Noida Authority will bear operational losses and expenses if needed.

For years, bus terminals across India have largely been functional but basic. Noida's airport-style terminal could set a new benchmark.
