Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has agreed to resign. The state's Lokayukta, or Obudsman, Santosh Hegde had indicted Mr Yeddyurappa and his family of accepting kickbacks from a mining company.

BS Yeddyurappa has been asked by the BJP to resign immediately as Karnataka Chief Minister. After a meeting at party president Nitin Gadkari's house, the party announced that Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh will fly to Bangalore tomorrow to decide on who will succeed Mr Yeddyurappa.
