BDR Pharma on Monday said it has inked a licensing pact with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to manufacture, distribute, and market COVID-19 drug 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose (2-DG) in the country.

Drug firm Mankind Pharma today said it has received licence from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to manufacture and market oral 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG), used for the treatment of COVID-19.

Dr Reddy's Laboratories today announced the commercial launch of 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose (2-DG) used to treat Covid patients, adding that the drug will be available across hospitals in metros and Tier 1 cities in the initial weeks.

Hyderabad-based Lee Pharma has entered into an agreement with the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), a constituent laboratory of CSIR, to manufacture and commercialise 2-DG used to treat Covid patients, a statement said.
