10-Point Guide To Chief Minister KCR's New 9-Acre Home

The construction cost of the estate spread over 9 acres is likely to come up Rs 50 crore.

Hyderabad: Just months after it was commissioned, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao aka KCR, has the house of his dreams to move into.

Here is your 10-point guide to the hottest real estate right now in Telangana:

  1. Get your walking shoes on. The residence covers nine acres in Begumpet in the heart of Hyderabad.

  2. It has been built by the Shapoorji Pallonji, the real estate major that's owned by the family of Cyrus Mistry, currently locked in an epic feud with Ratan Tata.

  3. The house was originally meant to cost 35 crores, but the final bill reportedly stands close to 50 crores.

  4. Not too shabby - it comes with a theatre that can accommodate 250 people and double up as an auditorium, homes for some senior government officials, a massive conference hall, and a mini-secretariat which will include some government offices.

  5. Parking spots? You got it. 300 of them. Yes, 300.

  6. So far, KCR, 62, has been living right behind the new building, in a much smaller home.

  7. Every aspect of the palatial new house has been determined by experts in Vaastu or feng shui. He decided to build the new complex because the existing headquarters for the government and his home were reportedly poor on Vaastu.

  8. A new government secretariat or office complex is to be built as well. Its construction is currently on hold.

  9. KCR's family owns another house in the city, one in their hometown and also a farmhouse nearly 60 km from Hyderabad.

  10. The opposition has hit out at KCR, accusing him of drawing from taxpayers' money for a lavish home while people are suffering severe limits on their spending because of a cash crunch after the notes ban. KCR has not responded till now.
